LAST DAY!
The time has come: our twelve weeks are complete, and your site should be up and running. Congratulations on finishing your website! If you still need support, just let me know. I’ll be here for the long haul!
WEEK 12
A website is like a residential house — expecting people to stumble into your living room is a big ask. That's why staying active in social spaces is so important! You need to direct them to your website, so they know where to go and follow up to stay top-of-mind.
WEEK 11
This week, we'll work on adding digital products and discounts to your site, so you can start a membership or course of your own with paywalled content through Squarespace's Pricing Plans feature. We'll also cover more static elements like blogs and password protected pages.
WEEK 10
Ready for some alphabet soup? We'll talk through URLs & how to optimize your site for search engines & mobile sharing, giving you the best chance for organic discovery. We'll also chat about fixing certain quirks with code snippets that will make you feel like a pro.
WEEK 9
By now, your website is built to the specifications we set in Phase 2, and you've built your whole site as intended! Now let's talk about adding new pages, so if you ever start a new program or course, you know exactly what to do to add it to your site.
WEEK 8
Now that your website is styled to match your brand, we'll jump into a blank page, adding new components & elements from scratch. This is SO much more effective than trying to build from a template, since we're addressing your needs — not the needs Squarespace thinks you have.
WEEK 7
We'll walk through how to navigate the Squarespace interface and begin your project by inputting all your "site styles," (aka colors & fonts) so you can move forward with a clear runway. Don't worry if Squarespace doesn't have your brand fonts, we'll cover that too!
WEEK 6
Learn how to write about yourself in a concise and compelling way, showing off your skills & personality, so folks are excited to get to know you better and listen to your expertise. The trick? Your bio is less about you, and more about showing your visitor you understand THEM.
WEEK 5
Your home page is THE most important page on your site. Think of it like the Table of Contents in a helpful guidebook, allowing people to quickly scan the headlines and find the information most relevant to them. That's why it's best to write your other pages first.
WEEK 4
Working from your Mission Statement, we'll make sure your website is easily navigable and covers all the bases that matter to your business, so your visitors can get exactly what they came for and browse for more details. Most sites don't need more than 5 pages!
WEEK 3
This week is all about the Mission Statement, the foundation for all the copy on your site. While beautiful, a website is really about the words on the page. We'll talk about the most important elements when writing for web, and how to make sure your site sounds like YOU.
WEEK 2
To create a website people want to visit, you'll need a clear brand. This means refining your visual cues, so visitors can quickly identify whether or not you're a match for their need. We'll talk about how to use colors and fonts to set the tone immediately.
WEEK 1
In our first week together, we'll make sure we have a complete understanding of what your website needs to DO. A website is more than a digital billboard — it's a tool, and everything on it should lead your visitor to take a clear action: buying, booking, or inquiring.
Office Hours
This is the week we’ll decide our Office Hours schedule! I want to make sure you’re able to attend to get the help you need along the way—or just have a body double to make sure the work gets done. I’ll put a poll on Slack, so make sure you’re fully integrated before the end of the week to lock in the day of your choosing.
EARLYBIRD closed
The Early Bird promotion ends today at midnight! Make sure to enroll in the first week to use code GETTHEWORM and get 20% off your course.
EARLYBIRD OPEN!
DIY Club is now enrolling! For the first week, use code GETTHEWORM for 20% off your full 3 month term.
New Years
We won’t miss class this week for New Years, but the holiday could impact our Office Hours schedule, depending on our office hours schedule. More details to come when we set the dates!
Christmas Break
We’ll observe a bi-week to celebrate the holiday season. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Thanksgiving
We won’t miss class this week for Thanksgiving, but the holiday will impact our Office Hours schedule! We can double down on the material next week if you need bonus support.
