My 4 Step Process

Form follows function. So first, we must understand everything you need your website to do. Your personal Brief will cover all the key components that contribute to your website structure. From here, we map the experience, guiding visitors seamlessly to your intended destination.

Once your sitemap is established, we’ll use it as a scaffolding for your webcopy. Each section feeds the underlying strategy, translated into a story arc that your visitors will be able to navigate intuitively. Copy is delivered in a format that mirrors your site architecture, but isolates language & composition in order to maximize their impact.

Next, we’ll set up your Squarespace account, using custom code to implement your branding. Because we’re working from a solid strategic foundation, the build process requires only a few days of focused execution. Desktop screens are reviewed live, and feedback is implemented in real time.

With your approval of the desktop design, we’ll shift our focus to mobile screens and perfect the experience at every breakpoint. SEO and any remaining tools will be integrated at this time, connecting your website to all the other places you do business online.

For those without a defined brand, I recommend adding a week to the program to solve design questions up-front. A Mini-Brand creates a package of multi-use logo, font, and color assets that will serve you well into the future — and makes our website build much easier.
